An artist

My work suggests a subtle expression of my ever maturing mentalities, reflecting all that I see or rather feel around me. Though I can not state that I follow a specific movement, my style can be interpreted both as expressionist and figurative. Focusing on Painting and creative writing, the main mediums through which I express myself, I am constantly struggling to portray my experiences and culture crisis as a Middle Eastern girl with a Canadian identity like mini biographies on paper as well as canvas. For the past few months I have been living in Iran and my work has accordingly taken on more personal themes. The new generation's sexuality related issues, the extremities, suppressions, abuse and explorations are ideally what I wish to portray in my works. Having to deal with censorship, however, has caused a subtle reference in my pieces to the aforementioned themes.
